After “Yes” comes the battle: Spiritual Warfare

The moment you say “yes” to Yah, the enemy takes notice.

It’s almost as if your obedience triggers an alarm in the spirit realm and suddenly, everything that could go wrong, tries to. That’s exactly what happened to me.

As soon as I said “yes” to the call and prepared to walk in obedience, warfare showed up at my door; first through my body, then my surroundings and finally, through people close to me.

Through it all, Yah reminded me: this is not destruction, it’s confirmation. With the call comes the battle. And the battle is proof that you’ve stepped into alignment.

1. The Physical Attack: When Your Body Is Targeted

The moment I said I would record my first podcast episode and share the message Yah gave me, I got sick out of nowhere. I knew right away it was the enemy.

I could barely move. The pain was intense, and strangely, it followed a pattern: it would ease around 11:30 p.m., then return around noon the next day. This went on for five days straight. It felt like something was trying to stop me from moving, from speaking, from starting.

Around the same time, my possessions were hit too. My car broke down out of nowhere. Then my finances were pressed.

In the past, all of this would have broken me but this time, instead of collapsing, I prayed. I kept asking Yah to strengthen me, to hold me, to keep my eyes on Him.

“I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.” - Psalm 37:25

Even when everything around me shook, His Word reminded me that I am not abandoned.

2. People Turning Against You

The warfare didn’t stop there.

Very quickly, my relationship went south. A few minutes, a few words and suddenly everything shifted. It hurt. My heart was heavy but not like before. This time, I felt Yah’s comfort holding me through it.

Then came tension in my family: misunderstandings, distance, heavy moments. It’s been a lot.

Through it all, He still came through in small reminders, in quiet peace, in the way He steadied my heart and fought for me.

All this made me realize that: when you start walking in obedience, some people will drift away and some relationships will be tested. It’s not always because they are bad people, but because not everyone can walk with you into the next chapter Yah is writing.

3. The Season of Exposure

Then came the exposure.

Things done in the dark, words said in secret, hidden matters, one by one, they began to surface.

“For nothing is hidden that will not be disclosed, nor is anything secret that will not come to light.”Luke 8:17

At first, exposure can feel like judgment, shame and/or embarrassment. It's also fear of what others will say or think.

In that process, Yah showed me something important: when He allows things to come to light, it is not to destroy me, it is to cleanse me. He doesn’t expose to crush, He exposes to free.

“For I know the plans I have for you, says Yah, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope.”Jeremiah 29:11

The devil has no real power over my life. What he uses to scare or shame me is only a lure, a tactic to make me hide, doubt or run away from the path Yah has prepared.

But Yah wants me to step into this new chapter clean, whole and free.
Without residue from the past.
Without secrets.
Without chains.

What was meant to shame me, He uses to purify me.

And the truth is:
if the enemy is fighting you this hard, it’s because you are a threat to his plans and important for the advancement of the Kingdom of God.

How am I overcoming it ?

Honestly, it's hard but Yah gave me Isaiah 54:16-17 :

“See, it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work; and it is I who have created the destroyer to wreak havoc. No weapon formed against you shall prosper.”

These verses reminded me that even the weapons formed against me are under His control. They may form, but they cannot prosper.
That right there gave me the peace and strength necessary to persevere in prayer, fasting and endure in Faith knowing that I belong to Yah, therefore nothing can touch me.

Job lost everything, yet he kept his posture before God. I want that kind of faith: the one that says “Even here, even now, Yah is still good.”

What the battle really means...

If you’ve recently said “yes” to Yah, to obedience, to a calling, to a new level of surrender, don’t be surprised if things seem to suddenly fall apart.

It doesn’t mean you made the wrong decision. It often means you made the right one.

With the call comes spiritual warfare. With the call also comes grace.

You have what it takes to get through this moment not because you’re strong on your own, but because Yah is with you in it.

Take a moment to reflect on where the battle has been the loudest in your life since you said “yes.”
Is it your health, your finances, your relationships, your emotions, or your mind?

Ask Yah to show you what’s really happening behind the scenes and let Him remind you that even in warfare, He is still in control, He is still good.
